Why this piece exists.
We designed it for a restaurant honoring its head chef: a chef's knife sculpted in metal, suspended inside a block of clear glass. It struck a nerve, and chefs and restaurant groups have come back for it again and again ever since.
The blade is the hero, and the clear glass makes it look effortless — as if the knife is held in mid-air. The recipient's name and details are engraved into the crystal around it.
A chef's knife is the most personal object in the kitchen — the one tool that's truly theirs. Sculpting it in metal and setting it in glass turns that intimate working object into something permanent and reverent. It reads instantly as culinary, but carries a weight a printed plaque never could.
