Engraved plaques — for awards
Plaques provide a dedicated surface for personalization on custom awards, especially when the main element isn't suitable for direct engraving. They offer a flexible way to add names, dates, and messages, ensuring every recognition is clearly communicated.

When an award's primary material isn't ideal for direct engraving, or you need to add a splash of color and detail, a custom plaque is the perfect solution. These versatile additions are mounted onto an award's base or body, transforming a simple piece into a personalized keepsake. Plaques allow for a range of design possibilities, from crisp text to intricate logos and vibrant full-color graphics. We work with two primary types: durable metal plates and flexible engraving laminates, each offering distinct advantages depending on your award's design and the message you want to convey. They ensure your custom award is not only beautiful but also clearly communicates its purpose and recipient.
Sublimated metal plates
*Vibrant color and classic metallic finishes*
Metal plaques are typically made from aluminum and are a popular choice for their crisp appearance and ability to display full-color graphics. We use sublimation technology, a thermal transfer process that embeds the design directly into the metal surface. This means your text, logos, and even photographs appear with vibrant, lasting color. Common finishes include classic gold, silver, and bronze, offering a traditional, polished look. The process involves printing your design onto a specialized sheet, which is then heat-pressed onto the aluminum. After cooling, the plate is precisely cut to size and mounted onto your award using strong double-sided adhesive tape, ready to honor its recipient.
Flexible engraving laminate
*For intricate shapes and non-flat surfaces*
For awards with curved surfaces, complex contours, or unique shapes, engraving laminate offers unmatched flexibility. This material is easily cut and engraved using a CO2 laser, allowing for intricate designs and precise detailing that might be challenging on rigid metal. The laser removes the top layer of the laminate, revealing a contrasting color beneath for a sharp, clear inscription. Laminates are also versatile for decorative elements, mimicking a metal appearance or serving as small, custom ornaments. Thicker laminates are secured with double-sided adhesive tape, while thinner versions often come with a convenient self-adhesive backing, making them ideal for a wide range of applications.

Working with engraved plaques.
What materials are used for custom award plaques?
We primarily use two materials: aluminum for metal plates, which allows for vibrant, full-color sublimation, and a flexible, engravable plastic laminate, perfect for laser etching intricate designs and adapting to unique award shapes.
How are plaques attached to awards?
Plaques are securely mounted using strong double-sided adhesive tape. For thinner engraving laminates, a self-adhesive backing is often integrated, ensuring a clean and durable attachment to your custom award.
When should I choose laminate over metal for a plaque?
Choose laminate when your award has a non-flat surface or requires a plaque with a complex, custom shape. Its flexibility and ease of CO2 laser cutting make it ideal for intricate designs and adapting to unique award contours.
Can plaques feature full-color designs?
Yes, metal plaques are excellent for full-color designs. We use sublimation technology to transfer vibrant, lasting graphics and text directly onto the aluminum surface, ensuring your award's message stands out clearly.
